Splendid Escape combines an Azimut in-water boat show, a supercar drive with Aston Martin/McLaren/Lamborghini, FB3 skipper training and a 5★ resort headquarter in Šibenik. Hosted by Splendid Yachting and Yachtwerk, the next edition runs 7-10 May 2026.
From 7 to 10 May 2026, Šibenik became the stage for arguably the most exclusive yacht and supercar event on the eastern Adriatic. Splendid Escape 2026 brought Azimut owners, charter clients and lifestyle enthusiasts from across the DACH region to the Dalmatian coast — and the newly released aftermovie captures the mood of those three days in 2:58 minutes.
Three days, one concept: yachts on the water, supercars on the coast
The Splendid Escape programme combined two worlds that rarely come together in the same place: at D-Marin Mandalina, Azimut presented its current model range as an in-water boat show — from the agile flybridge models and the sporty S-Series to the Grande line. A few kilometres further on, Aston Martin, McLaren and Lamborghini rolled across the winding coastal roads of the Dalmatian Adriatic, curated by Doerr Group.
An island party on Kaprije with sunset cocktails, a private yacht convoy through Krka National Park and the five-star D-Resort Šibenik as the central lounge rounded off the programme. For aspiring skippers, Splendid Yachting offered the FB3 Yachtmaster & SRC radio license as a condensed three-day intensive course — a rare opportunity to earn the certificate inside an active yacht-charter environment.

Anyone who has spent three days at Splendid Escape is not a passive spectator of a boat show — they are part of a curated lifestyle programme that delivers a new backdrop hour by hour. Here’s the flow of this year’s edition at a glance:
Why Šibenik — and why now
Over the past few years, the middle Adriatic between Zadar and Split has become the first choice for discerning yacht owners: deep bays, short distances between islands, world-class marina infrastructure, and — with Marina Mandalina — the only 5-Gold-Anchors superyacht marina on the eastern Adriatic. For Splendid Yachting and Yachtwerk, Šibenik is logistically ideal: Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich are all within two flight hours, and the transition from private jet to yacht takes less than fifteen minutes.
Splendid Escape is not a conventional sales format. The concept is a lifestyle showcase: yachts are driven, not displayed; supercars are taken out on the road, not parked behind a barrier; skipper training takes place on board, not in a seminar room. Anyone attending for three days will have physically experienced every Azimut model in the current range, driven an Aston Martin along the magistrale and — if they choose — walked away with their FB3 certificate in hand.
The May timing is no accident either: water temperatures around 18 °C, daytime temperatures around 22 °C, stable Bora-free weather and a coastline that hasn’t yet shifted into high-season mode. If you want to seriously test the start of the Adriatic charter season, May offers the most honest conditions — which is exactly why Splendid Escape sits in this week every year.
FB3 Yachtmaster & SRC on location: get the licence where you actually sail
Part of the programme that doesn’t fit into the aftermovie, but for many participants is the actual reason for the trip: the FB3 Yachtmaster skipper licence issued by the Croatian harbour-master offices (an internationally valid certificate up to 30 GRT and 12 nm offshore) together with the SRC radio licence. Splendid Yachting offers both courses in a three-day intensive format running parallel to the lifestyle programme — theory in the mornings, practical training in the afternoons on board the Azimut fleet, exam on Sunday directly in Šibenik.
The advantage over weekend courses in Germany is obvious: you learn in the actual cruising ground, with real currents, real marina manoeuvres and a boat you will charter or buy afterwards. Anyone arriving without a licence flies home with two papers in hand.
